What's Different About MyAreaGourmet?
If you're a person who simply loves food, whether dining at home or exploring the culinary possibilities at a local restaurant, you'll feel right at home here at MyAreaGourmet.com. Unlike most online restaurant guides, we don't focus on critique or reviews from the public or food critics. MyAreaGourmet.com strives to give you something different: all the information about the restaurants in your area you need to make a decision about where to dine.
Our restaurant guide focuses on the facts about the best, independently-owned dining establishments in your area. Whether you're interested in menu options, hours of operation or the dress code, each restaurant listing will give you the information you want. On top of that, MyAreaGourmet.com provides the latest news in restaurant trends -- any dining information we think will pique your interest.
The People Behind MyAreaGourmet
Site owner Lynne Webb developed the concept for MyAreaGourmet.com in late 2005 because she felt the internet lacked quality restaurant information. Her goal was to create a directory of local, independent restaurants with listings that presented the detailed characteristics that make each one a unique dining experience. Unlike common restaurant-rating sites, MyAreaGourmet.com provides you with comprehensive information about a restaurant so you can make educated dining choices without being influenced by the opinions of strangers that may not share your tastes.
Our editor and chief content contributor, Erika Pitera, has an insatiable curiosity when it comes to food and a terrific talent for sharing her love for food with readers. She is an adventurous cook, and her interest in food is shared by her photographer husband, Thomas Pitera, whose creativity is evident in many of the Central Florida restaurant photos, as well as a number of the shots that accompany our articles on dining trends.
